The project Reclaiming Voices: Integrating LGBTQ+ Narratives into Holocaust Remembrance and Collective Memory aims to bridge historical narratives with contemporary issues, highlighting how the persecution faced by LGBTQ+ individuals during the Holocaust mirrors ongoing discrimination and violence against LGBTQ+ communities in modern Europe. The project will recover and share the stories of LGBTIQ+ people persecuted under the Nazi regime and in its aftermath, placing them firmly within Europe’s shared remembrance. It will bring together historical research, digital storytelling, and creative, participatory approaches to remembrance, ensuring that these voices are heard by new generations. 

The project aims ​

• To strengthen remembrance of Holocaust, genocides, war crimes and crimes against humanity, with a dedicated focus on non-Jewish victims, here LGBTIQ+ people. 

• To develop inclusive, participatory ways of remembering that challenge hatred and prejud 

• To counter denial, distortion, and trivialisation of persecution.

• To foster dialogue across generations and cultures, engaging young people, educators, relatives of victims, newcomers, and the wider public.
